1st Fali S. Nariman Memorial National Moot Court Competition

Under the esteemed guidance and supervision of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Anil Kumar Dixit, Career College of Law organized the three-day 1st Fali S. Nariman Memorial National Moot Court Competition from May 17, 2024, to May 19, 2024. The competition was divided into four rounds, culminating in the semifinals and final held on May 19, 2024.

The final round was judged by three sitting District and Additional Sessions Judges from Bhopal: Mr. Sachin Kumar Ghosh, Mr. Atul Saxena, and Mr. Arvind Kumar Sharma. Mr. Atul Saxena shared his college life experiences and encouraged students to participate in such competitions in the future. Mr. Sachin Kumar Ghosh expressed his pride in meeting young future advocates. The team of Mantasha Habib, Anil Kumar Singh, and Aashi Jain from Saifia Law College, Bhopal, emerged as the winner, while the team of Vinay Yadav, Muskan Mishra, and Darshan Kaushik from Government New Law College, Indore, was the runner-up.

Other Awards were distributed as follows:

Best Speaker: Vinay Yadav from Government New Law College, Indore

Best Researcher: Divya Shrotiya from Department of Legal Studies and Research, Barkatullah University, Bhopal

Best Memorial Award:   Priyanshi Rathore and Nakashtra Zariwala from Ravindra Nath Tagore University, Bhopal

The semifinal round was judged by several eminent personalities from the legal field, including Dr. O.P. Tiwari (Principal District and Sessions Judge, Retd.), Mr. Shubham Upadhyay (Legal Educationist), Advocate Sachin Nayak, and Advocate Harpreet. The four teams that qualified for the semifinals were:

  1. Government New Law College, Indore
  2. Saifia Law College, Bhopal
  3. Mahindra University, Hyderabad
  4. Symbiosis Law School, Pune

On May 18, 2024, the preliminary and quarterfinal rounds were organized. The preliminary round judges included Advocate Rahul Ganeshe, Advocate Prachi Thakre, Advocate Suraj Baghel, Advocate Mohammad Iquraam, Advocate Anadi Taylor, Advocate Shivam Darwai, and Advocate Prerna Rajput. The quarterfinal round was judged by Dr. Vikram Chaudhary (Assistant Professor, Govt. State Law PG Law College, Bhopal), Mr. Nitish Daniel (Assistant Professor, BU), Mr. Mohnish Sharma (Legal Educationist), Advocate Ayush Bharadwaj, and Advocate Sachin Nayak.

The inaugural ceremony was held on May 17, 2024, with Mr. Amitabh Mishra, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Bhopal, as the Chief Guest. In his speech, he shared practical aspects of the judiciary and emphasized the importance of such competitions for future advocates. A total of 12 teams participated from various colleges in India.

Teams from various renowned colleges participated in the competition, such as Tamil Nadu National Law University, Mahindra University (Hyderabad), Symbiosis Law School (Pune), Indore Institute of Law (Indore), Department of Legal Studies and Research (Barkatullah University), Rabindranath Tagore University (Bhopal), Government New Law College (Indore), Vivekananda Global University (Jaipur), KLE Law College (Bengaluru), and Madhav University (Rajasthan).
